People that write, then give their efforts to people free of charge are a special group of people, and deserve special praise. Then when the product they give away is so useful and well designed, they should be put on a pedestal and worshiped! The developer of PsPad is one of these special people, and his software is one of those “Must Have's” everyone should install if they have a Windows operating system.
PsPad can be used as a super charged simple text editor. It includes a free spell checker database (which you can download from the PsPad site) and all the usual editing tools. But, PsPad can do far more than just edit & create text files.
It is very useful when editing web pages, and highlights different code sections in different colors, along with an array of cool stuff to help with your html, php or whatever code your pages are in. Plus it integrates nicely with your FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client software, so you can download the page to edit from your website directly to PsPad, edit it, click to close PsPad and you edited page is set back to your web site.

Although PsPad is jam packed with good stuff, there is no need to feel intimidated in the least. The software is easy to use, whether you are creating a text file, XML, HTML, PHP, SQL or any numerous files to edit/create. The Menus are neat and the work area is organized very well, spacious and doesn't leave the user feeling like they are exploring (spelunking?) a tiny dark cave.
As if that wasn't enouph, PsPad has quite a few extensions (free also) to add to it's usefulness. You can view the extensions here:

Let me clarify tho that PsPad is not just for people that write/edit code (although it's great for that!).. Its for all your editing & text creation needs.
On the PsPad web site is ton's of help FAQ's and there is also a forum if you have any questions. You just can't lose with this Software.
