In case you are just reading this article and don't know why you would want a site mapping program or what a site map is, I'll answer that now.
A site map is used by the major search engines (Google, Msn & Yahoo) to help index your site pages more efficiently, and is basically a list of your site's pages and links to where they can be found. These site maps are usually in XML format or a simple text file with a .txt extension. Since you have to create the site map and upload it to your sites so it can be found by the search engines, you will need something to do this.
For those of us that wish to create Site Maps of all our websites for the various search engines, we pretty much have 3 choices. Use one of the many free sitemapping services on the Internet, get one of the free or commercial php scripts you install on your website or buy a mapping tool that runs on your Windows computer.
The first choice is ok, but may take several days to get the results if your site is even a little bit big. The second choice of running a site mapping php script on your site is only good for very small sites as these script use an incredible amount of the server's resources and can easily get the site you running the script on shut down by your host.
The third choice is the best as far as I'm concerned. You can do all your site mapping from your desktop, and edit easily ... also from your desktop, then save the results and sitemap where ever you wish on your computer.

It also has all the options for making a great site map in XML or text, plus it makes a nice html site map you can easily add to your sites.
Another good thing is the size of your site's pages (whether static or dynamic) doesn't seem to faze inspyder's sitemapper. One of my Article Friendly sites has over 150 thousand articles, and the site map software raced thru it with no problem! Sweet.
One of my pet peeves is that most php scripts & windows software are usually way over priced for what you get. Inspyder was kind enough to give it's users more value for the money. Thats MY kind of software!
